Get TicketsJoin us Jan 22–23, 2026 at Canaan Valley Resort for Alive to Thrive — a welcoming weekend of adaptive skiing, peer connection, and practical brain-injury support.
Designed for people with traumatic brain injury, their families, rehabilitation professionals, students, and community partners, the weekend pairs accessible on-snow instruction (with Challenged Athletes of WV and WVU PT students) and fun social activities (snow-tubing, an evening film + keynote) with a one-day professional CEU conference: Pushing the Peak: Elevating Brain Injury Science and Support.
AM: Out-of-state teams (TWFF, MoCrazy, participants) depart/arrive Morgantown; optional sponsor visits/photos.
12:00 pm: Travel to Canaan Valley Resort.
3:00 pm: Check in at resort. Logistics meeting with staff/volunteers.
6:00 pm: Group dinner (welcome + orientation).
8:00–9:00 am: Breakfast / check equipment.
9:00 am: Gather in lodge; participant check-in & pairing with CAWV instructors/assistants.
9:30 am: On-hill sessions begin (adaptive support provided).
1:00 pm: Lunch (on hill / lodge).
2:00–4:00 pm: Afternoon ski sessions continue.
4:30 pm: Gentle restorative session — Yoga with Fruit (Grace Mauzy).
6:00 pm: Dinner + informal social time.
8:00–9:00 am: Breakfast / pack up as needed.
9:00 am: Meet in lodge for morning ski check-in.
9:30 am–12:00 pm: Morning ski sessions.
12:00–1:00 pm: Lunch (working or sponsored lunch possible).
1:00–3:00 pm: Afternoon ski wrap up; return to lodge by 3:00 pm.
Professional CEU program: 9:00 am – 6:30 pm (see schedule below).
5:15–5:30 pm: Short sponsor remarks (Toyota).
5:30–6:30 pm: Movie screening + keynote (Jamie) — followed by social.


The mission of the West Virginia University Center for Excellence in Disabilities is to improve the lives of West Virginians with disabilities by supporting more diverse, inclusive communities.
Challenged Athletes operates the adaptive skiing program at Snowshoe Mountain Resort, teaching over 400 lessons annually to children and adults with disabilities, and provides specialized ski and snowboard equipment to program participants at no cost.
